Tour Description

Experience an extraordinary journey into the heart of the Ecuadorian Amazon with this 5-day, 4-night expedition through Yasuní National Park, one of the most biologically diverse places on Earth.

Your adventure begins in Puerto Francisco de Orellana (Coca), where you'll travel by covered motorized canoe along the majestic Napo River to a remote eco-lodge surrounded by untouched primary rainforest. Throughout the expedition, you'll explore one of the world's richest ecosystems while accompanied by experienced naturalist guides.

Discover ancient rainforest trails filled with towering trees, medicinal plants, insects, amphibians, and remarkable wildlife. Daytime and nighttime hikes provide opportunities to observe monkeys, colorful birds, frogs, insects, spiders, and many other Amazonian species in their natural habitat.

The journey also includes a visit to a traditional Kichwa Indigenous community, where you'll learn about ancestral customs, traditional agriculture, local handicrafts, cassava chicha preparation, and the use of the blowgun, an important hunting tool that has been used by Amazonian communities for generations.

Highlights of the expedition include birdwatching at sunrise, visiting a spectacular parrot clay lick, hiking deep into the rainforest, exploring Amazonian lagoons, searching for the famous Amazon pink river dolphins along the Aguarico River near the Peruvian border, and taking a nighttime canoe excursion to observe black caimans and other nocturnal wildlife.

As part of your cultural immersion, you'll meet a traditional Kichwa shaman, who will share the wisdom of Amazonian ancestral medicine and perform a traditional spiritual cleansing ceremony. Guests who wish to participate may also experience a traditional ayahuasca ceremony conducted according to the customs of the local community.

This expedition offers the perfect combination of wildlife encounters, rainforest exploration, authentic Indigenous culture, and unforgettable Amazonian adventures, making it an exceptional experience for nature lovers, photographers, birdwatchers, and travelers seeking a deeper connection with one of the world's greatest natural wonders.

If you are staying in Quito, Ecuador's capital city, there are two convenient ways to reach Puerto Francisco de Orellana (El Coca), the gateway to the Ecuadorian Amazon and the starting point of your adventure.

Option 1: Flight (Recommended)

The fastest and most comfortable option is to take a 30-minute domestic flight from Quito to Puerto Francisco de Orellana, locally known as El Coca.

Upon arrival, our staff will meet you at El Coca Airport at 10:00 AM to begin your Amazon tour.

You may also travel by overnight bus from Quito's main bus terminal to El Coca. We recommend departing the evening before, as the journey takes approximately 8 to 9 hours.

The following morning, our team will pick you up at 8:00 AM from the El Coca Bus Terminal. If you prefer, we can also arrange pickup from your hotel within the city of El Coca (optional service).
