Tour Description

Experience one of Ecuador's most iconic destinations on a full-day tour to Quilotoa Lagoon, a stunning emerald-turquoise volcanic crater lake nestled high in the Ecuadorian Andes at an altitude of nearly 3,900 meters (12,800 feet).

Your adventure begins with a comfortable departure from Quito or Baños de Agua Santa, traveling through scenic mountain landscapes, picturesque valleys, and traditional indigenous communities. Along the route, you'll stop at the famous Tigua Viewpoint, where you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views and visit an indigenous art gallery showcasing the internationally renowned Tigua paintings, famous for their vibrant colors and cultural significance.

Upon arriving at Quilotoa Ecological Reserve, you'll witness one of South America's most breathtaking volcanic lakes. From the crater rim, admire the incredible turquoise waters that change color depending on the sunlight and weather conditions, creating a truly unforgettable landscape.

For adventure enthusiasts, an optional hike leads down to the lake's shoreline, where you can relax, capture incredible photographs, or rent a kayak to paddle across the crystal-clear waters. The hike back to the crater rim is a rewarding challenge, and mule rentals are available for those who prefer an easier ascent.

After exploring Quilotoa, enjoy a delicious traditional Ecuadorian lunch at a local restaurant before beginning the scenic drive back to your departure city.

Whether you're passionate about hiking, photography, nature, or indigenous culture, the Quilotoa Lagoon Full-Day Tour offers an unforgettable journey through one of Ecuador's most beautiful Andean landscapes. This experience is ideal for solo travelers, couples, families, and small groups looking to discover the natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of the Ecuadorian Highlands.
