6 Days / 5 Nights Amazon Adventure Tour

Experience an unforgettable 6-day, 5-night adventure in the heart of Ecuador's Amazon Rainforest at Napo Wildlife Center, one of the finest eco-lodges located inside Yasuni National Park, one of the most biodiverse places on Earth.

Travel along the majestic Napo River, explore the peaceful Añangu Creek by paddle canoe, hike through pristine rainforest trails, climb a canopy observation tower, visit the world-famous parrot clay licks, and enjoy authentic cultural encounters with the Kichwa Añangu Community.

The highlight of this itinerary is an exclusive full-day expedition to Pañacocha Lagoon, an extraordinary flooded forest ecosystem located within an ecological corridor connecting Yasuni National Park and Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve.

Here you'll explore the unique Igapó Forest, home to squirrel monkeys, black-mantled tamarins, three-toed sloths, countless tropical birds, and—with a bit of luck—the magnificent Amazon pink river dolphins.

After changing to a motorized canoe, we will head to one of Yasuní’s most iconic sites, located on the banks of the Napo River, where parrots and parakeets descend in the morning to feed on natural minerals. Then, we will walk along a terra firme forest trail to reach a second clay lick protected by the Kichwa Añangu Community. The day continues at the Kuri Muyu Interpretation Center, where the mamakunas share traditions, dances, handicrafts, and ancestral knowledge. At night, a guided nocturnal walk will reveal another side of the rainforest, with the possibility of observing insects, amphibians, reptiles, and other nighttime species.

On the way back to the lodge, we will enter trails surrounded by lush vegetation, crossing terra firme forests where the guides will interpret giant trees, lianas, bamboo, and species typical of the understory. After lunch and some time to rest, we will navigate nearby creeks by paddle canoe, a peaceful experience ideal for searching for caimans, otters, birds, and other species associated with aquatic ecosystems.

After the hike, we will return to the lodge to enjoy a delicious lunch and a well-deserved rest. Pañacocha, whose Kichwa name means “Piranha Lagoon,” is part of an important natural corridor between Cuyabeno and Yasuní. Here, we will explore the Igapó forest, a seasonally flooded ecosystem where vegetation adapts to the cycles of the water and where there is a possibility of observing squirrel monkeys, black-mantled tamarins, three-toed sloths, and, with luck, pink river dolphins. In this area, you may also learn about traditional artisanal fishing as a local practice.
