We start the day with hotel pickup and travel along the famous Avenue of the Volcanoes until we reach Cotopaxi National Park, where the Andean scenery reveals its full beauty.

During the tour, we visit Limpiopungo Lagoon (3,800 masl), surrounded by volcanoes and native wildlife. We then continue by vehicle up to the parking area at 4,600 masl, where we begin a hike to the José Rivas Refuge (4,800 masl). If weather and volcanic conditions allow, we may continue to the glacier area, offering a truly unique experience in Ecuador.

The adventure continues with an exciting downhill mountain bike ride, considered one of the most spectacular in the country, crossing páramo landscapes and volcanic trails down to Limpiopungo Lagoon or even to the park entrance.

We finish the experience with lunch and a comfortable return to your original departure point.

Departure from Quito or Baños

07:00 am – Hotel pickup (Quito or Baños)

Drive to Cotopaxi National Park, traveling through Andean landscapes along the Avenue of the Volcanoes.

Park entrance at 2,600 masl.

Visit to Limpiopungo Lagoon (3,800 masl), short walk and time for photos.

Vehicle ascent to the parking area at 4,600 masl.

Hike to the José Rivas Refuge (4,800 masl) (approximately 1 hour).

Optional visit to the Cotopaxi glaciers, depending on weather and volcanic conditions.

Downhill mountain biking from 4,600 masl to Limpiopungo Lagoon or to the park entrance (2,600 masl), depending on the group’s level.

Lunch.

Return:

Quito: approximately 7:00 pm
Baños: approximately 5:30 pm
