 DAY 1 – QUITO CITY TOUR & MIDDLE OF THE WORLD

Historic Center – Basilica – Panecillo – Equator Line

We begin our journey exploring Quito, a city recognized for having one of the best-preserved historic centers in South America and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We will visit the impressive Basilica of the National Vow, where you can climb its towers and enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the city.

Next, we continue to the iconic Panecillo viewpoint, one of Quito’s most famous landmarks, known for the majestic Winged Virgin statue and breathtaking views of colonial and modern Quito.

Afterward, we head to the famous Middle of the World City, located on the equatorial line at latitude 0°0'0", where you can stand between the northern and southern hemispheres of the planet.

 DAY 2 – OTAVALO TOUR

Departure from Quito

Your adventure begins with pickup from your hotel or meeting point in Quito at 8:30 a.m.

We will travel north along the famous Pan-American Highway, passing through breathtaking Andean landscapes, traditional villages, fertile valleys, and picturesque countryside before arriving in Imbabura Province, also known as the Province of the Lakes.

During the journey, your guide will share fascinating information about the history, culture, and traditions of the indigenous communities of northern Ecuador.

 

Plaza de los Ponchos – Otavalo Indigenous Market

We continue to Otavalo, home to the largest and most famous indigenous handicraft market in South America.

Visit the renowned Plaza de los Ponchos, where hundreds of local artisans display handcrafted products made using traditional techniques passed down through generations.

Here you will find a wide variety of authentic handicrafts, including:

  • Wool ponchos.
  • Scarves and shawls.
  • Handwoven tapestries.
  • Blankets.
  • Handmade jewelry.
  • Traditional Andean musical instruments.
  • Bags and backpacks.
  • Hats.

Peguche Waterfall

After lunch, we will visit the beautiful Peguche Waterfall, one of the most sacred natural and spiritual sites for the Kichwa Otavalo community.

Enjoy a pleasant 15 to 20-minute walk through scenic trails surrounded by eucalyptus trees, native vegetation, and peaceful natural surroundings.

During the walk, your guide will explain:

  • The spiritual significance of the waterfall.
  • The traditional Inti Raymi celebration.
  • Indigenous ancestral ceremonies.
  • The biodiversity of the surrounding forest.

Upon arrival, you will admire the impressive 18-meter-high waterfall, one of Imbabura's most visited natural attractions.

Free time for:

  • Photography.
  • Short hiking.
  • Relaxing in nature.
  • Enjoying the river and peaceful atmosphere.
 

Cotacachi – The Leather Capital of Ecuador

Our final destination will be the charming town of Cotacachi, internationally recognized for its high-quality handcrafted leather products.

Walk along its main street, where you'll find dozens of stores specializing in:

  • Leather jackets.
  • Handbags.
  • Backpacks.
  • Shoes.
  • Belts.
  • Travel bags.
  • Handmade leather crafts.

You'll also have time to visit the central square, explore the local church, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of one of Ecuador's charming Andean towns.

 

Return to Quito

 


 DAY 3 – COTOPAXI NATIONAL PARK

After an energizing breakfast, we begin our adventure in private transportation toward the breathtaking Cotopaxi National Park.

Along the way, enjoy stunning Andean landscapes surrounded by volcanoes, mountains, and native wildlife from Ecuador’s highlands.

We continue toward José Rivas Refuge, located at 4,864 meters above sea level, where we will enjoy a short hike to admire the majestic Cotopaxi Volcano, considered one of the highest active volcanoes in the world.

After the tour, we enjoy a delicious lunch before continuing our trip to Baños de Agua Santa.

 DAY 4 – BAÑOS DE AGUA SANTA

Waterfalls Route & Casa del Árbol

Enjoy one of Ecuador’s most famous scenic routes visiting:

• Agoyán Dam
• Agoyán Waterfall
• La Esperanza Waterfall
• Culebrilla Waterfall
• Old tunnel road and cycling path

We arrive at Río Blanco, where you will find optional adventure activities such as:

• Glass Bridge
• Tibetan Bridge
• Zipline
• Bridge Jumping
• Cable Car
• Extreme Swing

We continue toward the impressive Pailón del Diablo Waterfall, one of the most visited waterfalls in Ecuador.

You may choose between:
• Short hiking trail
• Long hiking trail

Both routes offer incredible views of the waterfall.

Casa del Árbol

In the afternoon we visit the famous Casa del Árbol, home of the iconic “Swing at the End of the World” overlooking Tungurahua Volcano.

You may also visit:
• Fantasías de Volar
• Giant Extreme Swing
• Diamante Glass Platform

Overnight in Baños.

 


 DAY 5 – QUILOTOA LAGOON

After breakfast we travel along the famous Avenue of the Volcanoes surrounded by spectacular Andean landscapes.

We will visit:
• Latacunga
• Zumbahua
• Shalala Viewpoint
• Quilotoa Lagoon

We will enjoy a short hike to the best viewpoints of the lagoon, where you can take incredible photos and learn about the indigenous communities of the area.

Transfer to Quito.

End of the tour.
