Tour Description

Embark on an unforgettable 4 Days / 3 Nights adventure through the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, one of the most biodiverse protected areas in the world.

Your journey begins in Lago Agrio before traveling deep into the Ecuadorian Amazon. After registering at the Ministry of Environment, you'll board a motorized canoe and navigate the Cuyabeno River, surrounded by lush rainforest and extraordinary wildlife. Along the way, you may encounter monkeys, colorful toucans, macaws, reptiles, and, with a little luck, the legendary green anaconda.

Explore the famous Laguna Grande, where you'll witness one of Ecuador's most breathtaking sunsets and enjoy a refreshing swim in its peaceful waters. After dark, experience an exciting night safari searching for black caimans, tree boas, and other fascinating nocturnal creatures of the rainforest.

Your adventure continues with an early morning birdwatching excursion from an observation tower before hiking through the rainforest accompanied by a local community member. This unique experience offers valuable insight into Amazonian ecosystems while directly supporting sustainable community-based tourism.

Later, enjoy a kayaking excursion across the lagoon and participate in a traditional chocolate-making workshop, learning how locally grown cacao is transformed into handcrafted chocolate.

One of the highlights of the tour is visiting the Siona Community of Puerto Bolívar, where you'll experience indigenous traditions firsthand. Learn about ancestral customs, visit a cassava plantation, and participate in the preparation of casabe, the traditional Amazonian cassava bread. You'll also visit the majestic Ceibo Tree, one of the largest and most iconic trees in the Ecuadorian Amazon.

Your adventure concludes with a magical sunrise canoe excursion across Laguna Grande, offering one final opportunity to observe pink river dolphins, tropical birds, and other Amazon wildlife before returning to Lago Agrio.
